What is the purpose of Graphing Stories?
The innovative Dan Meyer has once again helped developed another way to examine mathematics through creative activities. Graphing stories is a website that allows students to explore relationships between two variables that occur in real-life. Students watch a video that contains a 15 second clip of some random activity and try to graph the relationship between a given variable and time. Although this website can be used for high school students as a way to remediate skills or introduce topics relating to functions, it may be best suited for learning more about linear functions a middle school.
