I like the idea of getting vocabulary out of the way before the lesson begins. Therefore, I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and create a video explaining these important terms to the students, and how we use those terms in context. This will be more beneficial and engaging for the students than copying definitions out of a book would.
The handout that accompanies the video is meant to serve as a guide to the students so that they, as well as you (the instructor) can make sure they are able to understand the important ideas that are being presented in the video. The worksheet gives them a space to write down the definitions of the vocabulary words that are being presented, space to jot down any questions they might have, and space to draw a picture/image that shows they understand the the focus and directrix are always equidistant from the parabola.
